Wuthering Waves Currency Guide: Astrite, Shell Credits, Corals, Tuners and Lunite
Verified against the released game (v3.6). Where sources disagree, we say so.
Your Wuthering Waves inventory can look well stocked while the upgrade you need remains out of reach. Astrite pays for Convene pulls, Shell Credits cover progression costs, and Waveplate lets you claim farming rewards. Tuners and EXP materials solve narrower problems. Spending one resource without checking the others can leave a Resonator waiting for an ascension or an Echo waiting for its next tuning milestone.
For version 3.6, start by identifying the purchase or upgrade you actually want to complete. This guide maps each major currency and material to its use, explains the documented exchange rules, and gives you ways to budget pulls and farming together. Shop prices and package contents that the available research does not establish are left unpriced.
Identify the resource your next upgrade needs
Treat your inventory as several separate budgets. A large balance in one category does not establish that you can finish a purchase in another. These are the main resources to recognize before you open a shop or claim a challenge reward.
| Resource | Documented purpose | First spending check |
|---|---|---|
| Astrite | Premium pull currency; exchanged for Tides | Choose the intended Convene before converting |
| Lustrous Tide | Standard and novice Convenes | Check which standard or beginner objective you want |
| Radiant Tide | Featured Resonator Convene | Confirm the featured Resonator and your guarantee |
| Forging Tide | Featured Weapon Convene | Confirm the weapon you intend to obtain |
| Shell Credits | Resonator ascension, weapon ascension and Echo tuning costs | Reserve enough for the next planned upgrade |
| Waveplate | Stamina spent on challenge reward claims | Select the material shortage you need to fix |
| Waveplate Crystals | Overflow storage associated with a full Waveplate bar | Inspect stored overflow separately from ordinary stamina |
| Medium, Advanced and Premium Tuners | Reveal Echo substats through tuning | Match the Tuner tier to the Echo's requirement |
| Afterglow Corals | Convene reward currency used in shop exchanges | Read the individual offer and its currency cost |
| Oscillated Corals | Currency obtained from 3-star weapon pulls, used in shop exchanges | Keep this balance separate from Afterglow Corals |
| Energy Cores | Weapon EXP | Confirm the weapon and its current level limit |
| Resonance Potions | Resonator EXP | Check whether an ascension is also needed |
| Lunite | Paid currency | Read the purchase and exchange terms shown in-game |
Energy Cores, Resonance Potions and Tuners belong in this guide because they compete for your attention and farming budget, even though they are upgrade materials. Their usefulness depends on the equipment or Resonator you intend to develop. Decide that destination before treating a material shortage as a reason to buy more supplies.
Astrite and Tides: convert for a specific Convene
The central exchange rate is 160 Astrite for one Tide. The ordinary Tide types have different destinations: Radiant Tide serves Featured Resonator Convene, Forging Tide serves Featured Weapon Convene, and Lustrous Tide serves standard and novice banners. Always read the currency name when comparing a reward with your pull target.
Keeping Astrite available until you have chosen a banner makes planning straightforward. First choose the Resonator or weapon objective, then count the appropriate Tides already in your inventory, and only then calculate the Astrite shortfall. A balance of Lustrous Tide should be recorded against a standard or novice goal rather than added to a Featured Resonator budget.
These conversions are arithmetic from the documented exchange rate, without beginner discounts:
| Ordinary pulls funded entirely with Astrite | Astrite required |
|---|---|
| 1 | 160 |
| 10 | 1,600 |
| 20 | 3,200 |
| 40 | 6,400 |
| 80 | 12,800 |
| 160 | 25,600 |
For an example, suppose you want to fund 20 Featured Resonator pulls and already hold five Radiant Tide. You need another 15 Radiant Tide, which corresponds to 2,400 Astrite. This is a hypothetical inventory calculation, not a reward package or an estimate of the pulls needed to obtain a particular Resonator.
The Novice Convene, Utterance of Marvels, has a separate discount: its maximum 50 pulls cost 40 Lustrous Tide, and it closes early when you obtain its guaranteed non-promotional 5-star. Keep that offer out of ordinary 160-Astrite-per-pull comparisons unless you are specifically budgeting for the novice banner.
The research also records collaboration currencies introduced with version 3.4: Dreamcatcher Tide for collaboration Resonators and Shadowforge Tide for collaboration weapons. Record those by their own names. Their existence does not establish that a collaboration banner is currently available, and collaboration pity is separate from regular limited-banner pity. Check the active Convene before committing a collaboration budget.
Size an Astrite reserve around the guarantee you need
The same Astrite balance supports different outcomes depending on your Convene choice. On Featured Resonator Convene, a 5-star is guaranteed within 80 pulls. The first 5-star has a 50% chance to be the featured Resonator; after losing that result, your next 5-star is guaranteed to be featured. Starting without that guarantee, the worst case is therefore 160 pulls.
Featured Weapon Convene guarantees the featured weapon when you obtain a 5-star, within 80 pulls. It has no character-style 50/50. Consequently, a reserve calculated for one 5-star weapon cannot be treated as a worst-case reserve for a featured Resonator starting without a guarantee.
| Objective, starting with no accumulated pity | Maximum pull reserve | Astrite equivalent if funding every pull |
|---|---|---|
| Obtain a 5-star on Featured Resonator Convene | 80 | 12,800 |
| Guarantee the featured Resonator without an existing featured guarantee | 160 | 25,600 |
| Guarantee the featured weapon on Featured Weapon Convene | 80 | 12,800 |
These are reserve ceilings derived from the stated rules. They are not predictions of your actual spending. Existing pity and an existing featured guarantee change your remaining requirement, so inspect those before deciding how much additional currency you need.
Pity counts are separate between banner types. A weapon pull does not advance a Resonator guarantee merely because both purchases began as Astrite. Keep a separate note for each objective: applicable Tides, relevant pity, guarantee status, and the Astrite you are willing to commit.
Exclude hoped-for future income when checking whether you can fund a purchase today. You can add an earned reward once you have claimed it; an unfinished activity should remain a separate opportunity. This is especially useful when exploration rewards and recurring combat rewards appear together in an income estimate. The Convene Guide explains the banner rules in more detail, while the Free Astrite Guide covers earning sources.
Shell Credits: reserve them across competing upgrades
Shell Credits are a shared progression resource. The research documents them in Resonator ascension requirements, weapon ascension requirements and Echo tuning costs. An Echo project can therefore consume credits you intended to use on a level-cap upgrade, even when the two projects use completely different materials otherwise.
Simulation Challenges provide a documented farming source for Shell Credits. Before spending Waveplate there, check that credits are the actual blocker. If a Resonator is waiting for a boss-specific ascension material, a larger Shell Credit balance alone will not finish the ascension. Conversely, collecting more boss materials will not fix an unpaid credit requirement.
Use the costs displayed for your chosen upgrades to make a short spending queue:
- Select the Resonator, weapon or Echo you plan to improve next.
- Record the Shell Credit requirement shown for that action.
- Check whether its other materials are already available.
- Reserve those credits before beginning an optional upgrade elsewhere.
- Farm the missing resource, then finish the planned action before expanding the queue.
A useful distinction is between an upgrade you can complete now and one you can only partly fund. If your weapon has its ascension materials ready, spending the remaining credits on unrelated Echo experiments can delay a definite improvement. You may still prefer the Echo investment, but the choice should reflect your current build goal.
Avoid using a single advertised full-build total as your entire Shell Credit budget. The supplied research contains approximate Resonator progression totals, but its descriptions do not consistently establish whether every upgrade category is included, and exact per-ascension tables remain unverified. Read each requirement at the point of use instead of treating an aggregate estimate as a universal price.
The Resonator Leveling Guide and Weapon Leveling Guide explain the separate progression paths. Use them to identify prerequisites; use your chosen upgrade's displayed cost to decide how much of your current balance is already committed.
Waveplate and Waveplate Crystals: budget time and claims
Waveplate is stamina with a 240 cap, regenerating at one point every six minutes. That is ten Waveplate per hour and 240 over 24 hours when regeneration continues without reaching the cap. Offline regeneration works, so you can schedule spending around your next session rather than remaining logged in.
Since version 1.2, reaching the cap enables overflow into Waveplate Crystals, at one Crystal every 12 minutes. The ordinary bar stops filling at 240 while the overflow system provides separate storage. The available research does not establish the Crystal storage ceiling or all withdrawal rules, so this guide does not assign an unlimited reserve or a specific recovery amount to that system.
These ordinary claim costs are documented:
| Activity | What its rewards support | Waveplate per claim |
|---|---|---|
| Forgery Challenge | Weapon and Forte upgrade materials | 40 |
| Tacet Field / Tacet Suppression | Echoes and Tuners | 60 |
| Boss Challenge | Resonator ascension materials | 60 |
| Simulation Challenge | Shell Credits and Resonator EXP materials | Exact cost unverified in the research |
| Weekly Challenge | Boss-specific Forte materials | Exact cost unverified in the research |
The uncertainty on Weekly Challenge costs is deliberate: the notes contain a stated price elsewhere but explicitly retain that price in their unverified register. It should not become a firm budget assumption. The verified weekly restriction is a shared limit of three reward claims across Weekly Challenge bosses, with a Monday reset.
You can still build useful schedules from the confirmed costs. One full 240-Waveplate bar pays for six Forgery Challenge claims, four 60-Waveplate claims, or three Forgery claims plus two Boss Challenge claims. These combinations describe spending capacity only; they do not predict how many materials you will receive or guarantee a finished build.
For a shorter timing example, 60 missing Waveplate takes six hours to regenerate at the documented rate, provided the bar has room. Check the balance and your next login time before consuming a refill. That calculation may show that natural regeneration already covers your planned session.
Crystal Solvent is a separate consumable that restores Waveplate. The notes identify events and shops as sources and state that it does not expire. They do not supply a restoration amount or a numeric daily-use allowance, so do not substitute guessed values into a farming plan. Read the item details before using it. For allocation by progression stage, consult Waveplate Priority.
Tuners: pay to reveal an Echo's substats
Tuners have a specific job: they reveal Echo substats at tuning milestones, with a Shell Credit cost alongside them. The documented tiers are Medium Tuner, Advanced Tuner and Premium Tuner, matched to Echo rarity. Check the required tier on the Echo you intend to tune rather than treating every Tuner in your inventory as interchangeable stock.
The research records tuning milestones at +5, +10, +15, +20 and +25, with up to five substats. Revealed substats cannot be changed or re-rolled. That makes tuning a sequence of spending decisions: each revealed result gives you more information about whether this Echo deserves further investment.
A practical inspection order is:
- Check the Echo's main stat and Sonata Effect against the build you want.
- Confirm that you intend to keep developing an Echo of this rarity.
- Raise it to the next relevant milestone and inspect the tuning requirement.
- Reveal the substat, then assess the result before funding another milestone.
- Continue only if the remaining investment still serves your equipment goal.
For example, deciding that an Echo no longer fits your needs after an early reveal is a reason to reconsider the remaining milestones. Earlier spending does not make later spending compulsory. This approach does not promise better random results; it gives you opportunities to stop committing materials to a candidate you no longer want.
Tacet Fields are a documented source of Tuners alongside Echo rewards. Tuner Synthesis, available since version 1.1, converts lower-tier Tuners upward. This gives lower-tier stock a use beyond its immediate matching Echoes, but the research does not provide a verified synthesis ratio. Check the conversion preview before deciding how much stock it contributes to your target tier.
Sources disagree on the Tuner quantity needed for full tuning, and the per-slot Tuner and Shell Credit table is explicitly unverified. This guide therefore gives no exact full-Echo price or daily completion estimate. It also avoids projecting a fixed farming yield onto every Tacet Field claim. Use Echo Tuning Guide for the wider investment process and Echo Farming Routes when choosing a farming activity.
Afterglow and Oscillated Corals: distinguish the reward from the exchange
Afterglow Corals and Oscillated Corals are separate Convene reward currencies. Their names are similar, but their recorded sources differ. The documented duplicate 5-star Resonator result includes a Waveband for sequence progression and 15 Afterglow Corals. A 3-star weapon pull grants 15 Oscillated Corals.
That second rule matters: Oscillated Corals should not be described simply as the reward for duplicate Resonators. The research ties the stated Oscillated amount to 3-star weapons. Likewise, the Waveband and the Afterglow Corals listed for a Resonator duplicate serve different purposes and should be recorded separately.
| Documented result | Reward to recognize | Planning use |
|---|---|---|
| Duplicate 5-star Resonator | One Waveband and 15 Afterglow Corals | Check sequence progression and the shop balance separately |
| 3-star weapon | 15 Oscillated Corals | Add to the Oscillated balance used for exchanges |
| Coral shop offer | Items or Resonators, as summarized collectively in the research | Inspect which Coral currency the individual offer requires |
Resonators have six Resonance Chain nodes unlocked through duplicates. Before assigning a value to a duplicate, read the relevant node and consider whether it supports your intended use of that Resonator. The Resonance Chain Guide covers that progression system.
For shop spending, the research verifies exchanges for items and Resonators at a general level. It does not provide a current inventory that maps every product to its currency, price, purchase limit and refresh schedule. You should therefore check the actual offer before assuming either Coral balance can buy a particular item. This guide does not publish a universal monthly Coral shopping list.
Use a purchase comparison grounded in what you can see: note the currency required, the quantity received, and the upgrade or roster goal the offer would satisfy. Compare that with the alternative offers you would give up. An item that completes an immediate requirement may suit your plan; saving for a listed Resonator-related objective may suit another.
Keep prospective Corals out of a guaranteed pull budget until you actually receive them. The recorded conversion examples are not a complete table for every rarity, weapon result, or duplicate obtained after all Resonance Chain nodes are unlocked. Assuming one flat payout for all those cases would overstate what the research establishes.
Energy Cores: fund weapon EXP separately from ascension
Energy Cores provide weapon EXP. The research names Basic, Advanced and Premium Energy Cores. Allocate them to the weapon you have chosen to use, then check the next level limit before committing to a larger stockpile.
Weapon progression reaches level 90 through an ascension ladder. Ascensions need their own materials, including Forgery Challenge materials, common Tacet Discord drops and Shell Credits. More Energy Cores do not replace those requirements. If the next obstacle is an ascension, switch your planning to the materials on that ascension screen.
Common enemy materials can also contain the word “Core,” which makes names worth reading carefully. Howler Core and Whisperin Core families are documented common drops used in progression; Energy Cores are weapon EXP materials. Similar wording does not make them the same resource.
Weapon duplicates have another use: Syntonize raises a weapon's rank from Rank 1 toward Rank 5, improving its passive skill. Leveling with Energy Cores and increasing rank through duplicates are separate development paths. Identify which one you intend to improve before deciding that more weapon resources will solve the problem.
When comparing supply offers, look at whether your selected weapon can use the EXP immediately and whether its next ascension is funded. The research does not supply exact EXP values for each Energy Core tier, so a precise package-value comparison needs the quantities and EXP amounts shown in-game.
Resonance Potions: match character EXP to the next level gate
Resonance Potions provide Resonator EXP. Basic, Advanced and Premium are the tiers named in the research, with Simulation Challenges, events and shops listed as sources. Keep this supply separate from Energy Cores when checking whether a reward helps your next character upgrade.
Resonators can reach level 90 and have six ascensions, with gates at levels 20, 40, 50, 60, 70 and 80. Their ascensions require a designated boss material, common enemy drops, regional specialties and Shell Credits. Progression also depends on Union Level and SOL3 Phase gates.
Before farming Potions, inspect both the current EXP requirement and the next ascension requirement. A Resonator near a level gate may need relatively little immediate EXP while still lacking a regional specialty or a boss drop. Collecting the missing specialty can be useful alongside your stamina spending because those open-world materials do not cost Waveplate to gather.
Choose a reachable level milestone for the Resonator you actually plan to use. Then check the Potions already available from your inventory and earned rewards before claiming more from a Simulation Challenge. This keeps EXP farming connected to a specific result.
Character level also has its own role alongside Forte upgrades. Forte progression uses Forgery materials, common drops and weekly-boss Skill Upgrade Materials. If a Forte requirement is what blocks your next planned improvement, buying more Resonance Potions does not address it. The Forte Upgrade Guide helps identify those separate needs.
Lunite, Lunite Subscription and Pioneer Podcast
Lunite is the paid currency. The Lunite Subscription is a monthly card that provides daily Astrite, and Pioneer Podcast is the battle pass. Treat these as distinct entries when reviewing paid options: the currency name, a subscription reward, and a progression track describe different parts of a purchase.
The supplied research does not establish the Lunite-to-Astrite conversion ratio, the subscription's exact daily Astrite amount, an immediate purchase bonus, or rules for missed days and stacking subscriptions. Those details affect any value calculation. Read the current offer before assigning a total number of pulls to the subscription, and count future daily rewards separately from currency already received.
| Paid option or related system | What the research establishes | What to inspect before purchasing |
|---|---|---|
| Lunite | Paid currency | Current bundle contents and exchange terms |
| Lunite Subscription | Monthly card providing daily Astrite | Exact rewards, claim conditions and current price |
| Pioneer Podcast | Battle pass with a free track and paid Insider Channel | Track rewards, progress and paid-channel terms |
| Pioneer Podcast level purchase | Costs 100 Astrite per level | The exact reward reached by the proposed level purchase |
The Insider Channel adds Astrite and Premium supplies, with a Supply Pack at level 30. The research does not give a complete current reward table or establish the pack's full contents. Compare the displayed rewards with your account's shortages instead of treating the track name alone as evidence that it contains what you need.
Pioneer Podcast level purchases also create a direct Astrite tradeoff. At the documented rate of 100 Astrite per level, buying eight levels costs 800 Astrite. The same 800 Astrite corresponds to five ordinary Tides. This is an arithmetic comparison of spending options, not a recommendation to purchase levels or a valuation of the rewards you would reach.
Before spending, inspect your existing Podcast progress, the target reward and the available tasks. Decide whether you need the level purchase to reach that reward and whether it is worth the Astrite assigned to your Convene goal. Approximate dollar prices in the research are not sufficient to quote a current checkout price, so no regional price or “best value” ranking is supplied here.
Regional collectibles and event resources have their own destinations
Some resources have narrower exchange destinations than the main inventory currencies. Sonance Caskets are exploration collectibles exchanged for rewards. Exploration progress also supports reward claims at the Pioneer Association in Jinzhou, with documented thresholds at 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100%. Check those claims when gathering materials in a region; they represent another source of rewards you may already have earned.
The Pioneer Association and Pioneer Podcast are different systems despite sharing part of their names. The Association is tied to exploration progress, while the Podcast is the battle pass. The research does not verify the Association's current rank cap, so an old maximum-rank target should not determine your reward checklist.
For the recurring Lollo Logistics exploration event series, the notes describe Adventure Logs spent at a Lollo courier truck on Adventure Packages. This is an event exchange rather than a permanent weekly activity. Consult the active event's terms before planning around its availability or assigning its rewards to a recurring budget.
Also distinguish exchange currency from combat resources. For example, Whimpering Wastes Tokens are equippable run buffs in the documented mode, so they should not be added to a general shopping balance. Read an item's stated use before assuming its name denotes money you can spend elsewhere.
Build a purchase queue when you obtain a new Resonator
An acquired Resonator creates several possible expenses at once. To keep the next session focused, assemble a queue based on the first upgrade you can finish. The following sequence is a planning method, not a fixed cost estimate for every Resonator.
- Choose the immediate role and level target. Decide where you intend to use the Resonator and which reachable milestone you want first. Use Team Building Basics if the roster role is still unclear.
- Inspect the current ascension gate. Check boss materials, common drops, regional specialties and Shell Credits. Gather specialties while reserving Waveplate for the challenge materials you actually lack.
- Assign the weapon. Compare its current level and ascension needs with your Energy Core and Forgery material stock. Check common drop names carefully before counting them as available supplies.
- Choose the next Forte upgrade. Identify whether it needs Forgery drops or a weekly-boss material. If you need weekly rewards, account for the shared claim limit before allocating your remaining opportunities.
- Select Echo candidates. Inspect main stats and Sonata Effects before committing Tuners. Reserve the Shell Credits needed for the upgrades earlier in your queue.
- Review earned rewards and shop offers. Claim rewards you have completed, then compare the remaining shortage with the actual exchange price. Purchase against a named requirement rather than an undefined future build.
For a concrete stamina example, suppose your next weapon ascension needs Forgery materials and your Resonator ascension needs Boss Challenge materials. Three Forgery claims and two Boss Challenge claims use exactly 240 Waveplate. If credits are the remaining blocker instead, revise that allocation after checking the Simulation Challenge's displayed cost. The original split is useful only while it matches your shortage.
Finish the session by recording the next unmet requirement. A note such as “boss ascension material still missing; Potions already available” gives your next login a clear action. If the upgrade is ready, spend the reserved resources and complete it before opening another project.
